Buying A Used Car FAQ

The main difference between the two is that our certified pre-owned vehicles have received official certification directly from General Motors. This certification is only earned when the car has the following qualities:

• Less than 6 model years old
• Less than 75,000 miles on its odometer
• A clean title
• Pass a 172-point vehicle inspection

If the vehicle has all four of these qualifiers, then it is officially considered certified. Our CPOs also come with tons of benefits, including:

There are three main things to consider when looking for a used car.

Condition: You’ll want to inspect the exterior and interior condition of the vehicle. This inspection can vary from superficial elements like scratches, dings, or dents to mechanical aspects like the condition of its engine, transmission, and brakes. Shopping our CPO vehicles allows you to skip this step, since each one has already passed a through 172-point inspection.

Mileage: Depending on how you plan on using your vehicle, its existing mileage is going to be extremely important. Will you be using this vehicle every day for your long commute into the office, or is it a beginner model for your teen driver? The general mileage rule in order to make your investment worthwhile is: the lower, the better.

Vehicle history report: How many previous owners has the car had? Have there been any major maintenance work done? These questions and more can be answered when looking over its vehicle history report. Our used models each come with a detailed vehicle history report via CARFAX®.
